In March, Jersey Mike’s Subs held their 4th Annual Month of Giving that helped over 100 charities across the country. For the third year in a row, Steven’s Hope for Children was part of this great event hosted by an amazing company.
Twenty-one stores supported Steven’s Hope as did dozens of volunteers and loads of people for the month and the bid day, The Day Of Giving on March 26. When all dust settled and the last sandwich was made, over $110,000 was raised for Steven’s Hope. The Jersey Mike’s Subs store in La Verne led the nation in collecting donations during the month. The team there collected over $10,500!
“This is turning out to be a real game-changer for Steven’s Hope” says President and Co-Founder, Tony Cappelli. “The support we have received and the commitment for the future gives Steven’s Hope an opportunity to enhance what we do and make a larger impact to more families.”
On the Day of Giving, Jersey Mike’s Founder, Peter Cancro came to California and visited several stores including several that were supporting Steven’s Hope. In one of the Murietta stores, Cancro, the store owner, Tony Cappelli and the Reed family from Riverside were videotaped as part of the promotion for the Month of Giving. The Reed family stayed in a Steven’s Hope apartment in 2013 while they were waiting for their son to receive a heart transplant.
