Drives To Save Lives Golf Tournament Successful and Avoids Rain

It’s never fun to play golf in the rain.  And although the early weather forecast said it would be a wet event, a break in the clouds over Red Hill Country Club held long enough for a successful golf tournament and banquet.

“We were very concerned the week before all the way up to that morning”, said Executive Director Tony Cappelli.  “But as soon as we started setting up in the morning, the sun started peaking through.  All in all, it was a pretty good day.”

The tournament was held at Red Hill Country Club, which is a beautiful and challenging course.  On the course, Rotolo Chevrolet was the Hole In One Sponsor with a brand new Chevy Malibu as the prize for an ace on #15.  On hole 14, Charity Golf International send long-drive specialist Tommy Hugg to hit for the groups giving all that participated on the hole a chance to win a trip to Pebble Beach, CA to play golf.  Lunch was provided by Jack In The Box franchisee Greg Gribble.  At the banquet, Rhino Mechanical was the Banquet Beverage Sponsor while Frontier Homes was the Prize sponsor for the giveaway of a brand new set of TaylorMade M6 irons.

Stokes Auction Group sent Joel Burlingame to be the auctioneer.  Among the items auctioned were a wagon full of wine, a barbecue and concert, Los Angeles Angels tickets and a suite to LoanMart Field.

Each year, all sponsors get to compete in the Corporate Sponsor Challenge.  The 2018 Champion, McEachron Construction was not able to retain the crown or the 4 foot tall trophy as Southland Data Processing was the 2019 winner.
